Melbourne Council No.2 meets at Freemasons Victoria East Melbourne and is comprised of companions from all walks of life. Chartered under the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Victoria in 1945 the council was first chartered by the Grand Council of England and Wales and their territories overseas as Council No.56. After a period of 18 years in abeyance the council was returned its charter on the 24th Day of August 2024.

At Melbourne Council we pride ourselves in practicing cryptic masonry in the best ways possible. Meeting in the heart of freemasonry in Victoria Melbourne Council provides a home for Cryptic masons from far and wide. Comprised of over 25 members our companions come from all walks of life and enjoy the ritual side of the order as much as the social aspects. We here at Melbourne Council invite all those master masons who are Mark Master Masons and Exalted companions of the Holy Royal Arch to apply for membership to our council and hope that we can enlighten you on your next step in Masonry,
